--Wednesday, Feb.08, 2017

Speaking of videos in iPhone, the first idea that comes to you is probably the videos that we shoot with our iPhones. However, the "Video" we're going to talk about is much more than that, which includes Movies, Music Videos, TV Shows, iTunes U and those you've downloaded from sources, for example, YouTube.

People now get much used to mobile phones over a bulky and unmovable computer. Thus, most people might have downloaded some videos on PC but keep forgetting to watch them. As for myself, I used to 'discover' a bunch of unwatched videos stored in a folder on my computer, which I suppose to have them watch before long but forget to do so. However, these cases never happen again. Now, I always import videos to my iPhone 7 Plus once they're downloaded so that I can enjoy them in my spare time. If you're interested, please scroll down and learn how to add video files to iPhone with or without iTunes.

Transfer Videos from PC to iPhone

iTunes is a multi-functional software. Except for backup & restore feature, user can directly download apps, movies, TV shows, iTunes U, etc. on iTunes Store. Therefore, you don't to transfer videos to your iPhone if those are purchased and downloaded from iTunes. However, for videos downloaded from other sources, you might take two more steps.

However, due to the fact that built-in Video Player only supports to play video files in MOV or M4V formats. Therefore, before transferring videos to iPhone, make sure that the format meets the requirements.

Step 1. Add Videos to iTunes Library

Given that only stored in iTunes Library can videos be managed through iTunes, the first step is to move videos to iTunes Library. Make sure that you have the latest version of iTunes on your computer. Then, please get your iPhone connected to iTunes with USB cable. Now, go to "File" > "Add File to Library" and select those video files.

Step 1. Launch and Connect to iPhone Transfer

At first, please make sure that iPhone Transfer is on your computer. Then, get your iPhone connected to the software via USB cable. If connected, the information of the iPhone will be showed on the screen.

Step 2. Add Videos to Related File Option

Click "Media" on the blue part and you will find out there are a list of media files supported to be managed. Please choose a related item and get related videos imported. For instant, if I want to add the movie, Transformers: The Last Knight, to my iPhone, I would click "Movies" item and click "Add". Then, open the movie on the software. When the process completes, I'm able to enjoy the film on my iPhone.

Note that due to privacy security, videos cannot be directly imported to "Photos" app, but users can transfer videos to "Movies" instead.
